Your immune system is what will deter foreign bacteria and viruses away from making your body their home. This is a good thing, as it prevents us from becoming ill whenever we need to be at our healthiest. Going through an illness isn’t something any of us could call fun, but there are specific ways to ensure that your body is going the alkalization process properly. When you’re taking in too much acid throughout your diet, it makes you more susceptible to developing a disease. When you’re taking in excess sugar, certain types of medication or even too much caffeine, you’re creating an acidic imbalance within your body. You may be wondering, “what’s the big deal?”; but it’s actually a big problem.
Today, we’re going to be talking about different ways to keep your body’s acidity levels in check. Your pH level should be as neutral as possible; and here are a few ways you can go about achieving that.
Drink Water! – Water is somewhat of a forgotten medicine, as so many people are focused on the consumption of sugary drinks these days. Carbonated sodas are a problem, and water is a necessity when it comes to maintaining a healthy lifestyle. You need to drink half of your body weight in water (by the ounce) every single day to keep your systems aligned, as well as stay properly hydrated. Anything less than that and you’re putting yourself at risk. It will help rid your body of toxins as well.
Lymphatic Support – Your lymphatic system is something that plays a pivotal role in your well-being. When you’re sick, you may notice that your lymph nodes start to swell up – this is a reaction to them fighting away toxins. By exercising daily, practicing the “dry brush” technique (which is gently stroking your lymph nodes to promote drainage) and breathing techniques. Eat whole foods and focus on maintaining yourself; yoga is great for lymphatic support.
Add a Salad – Adding a salad to a few of your meals every single week couldn’t hurt, and it will have a relatively positive impact on your alkalization process. It will help you cut out sugary foods, as well as promote healthy weight loss.
Replace Sugar – Instead of using sugar for coffee and other items, you can replace it with alternatives. Some of the more popular alternatives would be coconut sugar, or even small amounts of honey (which is quite good with tea and coffee!).
