According to many studies, magnesium is a true jewel among minerals so having a magnesium deficiency is a serious deal. The benefits of magnesium are numerous and vast and generally, it can be described as the mightiest relaxation mineral known to a man. It makes perfect sense that if you lack proper intake of this mineral it can cause many unpleasant issues or even some very serious diseases.

A study proved that lack of magnesium can almost double the chances of the worst possible outcome in our life – death. The shocking fact is that more than a half of the US population is deficient in this precious mineral.

Luckily, it is very easy to correct magnesium deficiency.

Since magnesium is a powerful relaxant, pay attention to any signs of unusual stiffness, irritation, muscle cramps, or tightness. These are all possible signs of magnesium deficiency.

Moreover, doctors tend to use magnesium in some critical cases such as serious arrhythmia, constipation, colonoscopy preparation, in pre-term labor and preeclampsia cases.

Amazingly, magnesium is actually responsible for at least 300 enzyme reactions. It is found mostly in the bones, muscles, and brain. For this reason, it is obvious in helpful along energy, muscle relaxation, and membrane stability.

But also, there are other influences on Mg levels, such as antibiotic intake, diuretics, coffee, alcohol, salt, carbonated drinks, prolonged stress, chronic diarrhea, excessive menstruation, excessive sweating as well as intestinal parasites.

In addition, our body needs selenium and vitamins D, B6 in order to enhance its absorption.

These are a few methods to bring magnesium deficiency back in control:

1. Practice relaxation

2. Consume foods rich in Mg such as beans, rice, nuts, almonds, avocado, dates, shrimp, barley and greens in general.

3. Avoid medications responsible for magnesium loss

4. Take Mg supplements

5. Try to reduce the intake of coffee, alcohol, sugar and salt

6. Enjoy Epsom salt baths as much as possible

Daily suggested intakes of magnesium is 300 mg. most people have less than about 200 mg a day.

Mostly, minerals are better absorbed if you take them in combination with some other minerals.

You should take magnesium citrate, glycinate taurate and Mg cycle chelates – succinate, fumarate, and malate. Also, you should avoid Mg sulfate, gluconate, oxide, and carbonate since their absorption is very poor.
